White Peppercorns

White Peppercorns are a spice made from the dried fruit of the Piper nigrum pepper plant. They typically have a milder flavour than Black Pepper and a simpler flavour.

Both white and black peppercorns come from the same pepper plant and start off as the same fruit. The outer layer of white peppercorns is removed by soaking them before drying them. Underneath, the surface is smooth and white. White peppercorn has a greater pungency and heat than black pepper, with less scent and flavor.
